The first version of the RS Type 5000 was first introduced decades ago and is considered by many as one of the most sought after industrial automation controllers in history. Unfortunately, due to aging and increasing market demands, many companies have since moved on from the RS5000. But now, thanks to a brilliant piece of software created by a team from reddit’s /r/Guildwars2 subreddit, you can now use an emulator for this machine on your computer giving you access to all its features including creating I/O program modules from scratch! This helpful tool allows users to run numerous industrial applications without having to go through tedious physical assembly processes. Instead, this software allows users to write their own programs or modify existing ones making modifications to features such as the RS Logix 5000’s language and operation system a breeze. The RS Logix 5500 is a programmable logic controller (PLC) system made by Allen-Bradley that can perform a variety of tasks from simple light controls to highly complex manufacturing automation. It works on the Allen-Bradley Integrated IEBus protocol, which uses the RS-485 data transmission standard. The RS logix 5000 runs on Windows, Linux or Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and can run on any Intel i5 processor with at least 1 GB of RAM. The RS Logix 5500 includes a full development environment, a pre-compiled runtime library, and a user interface. The system also has a built-in emulator that allows for emulating a real PLC on a computer rather than an actual physical PLC. This makes it easy to develop, test and debug the RS Logix 5000 system. The emulator gives access to all of the libraries and device drivers as well as the capabilities of the RS Logix 5000 control software. Using this emulator, no hardware is required as it allows for complete simulation of your physical controller. The RS Logix 5000 emulator, created by Notch814, is a touch screen-enabled program that allows the user to control the screen with either a mouse or a tablet.
